The Faculty of Language and Arts (FLA) at Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU) has established an ongoing collaboration with the University of St. La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod, Philippines, to facilitate an international teaching internship program for students. This initiative has become a regular part of the Community Service program, which aims to strengthen international academic collaboration while expanding cross-cultural learning insights for students. SMA PL Don Bosko, Semarang was selected as a strategic partner due to its consistent support for the success of this international internship program. The motivation for hosting these Filipino interns was the limited use of English in Biology and Physics classes, as well as students' low confidence in expressing opinions in a classroom where English is the medium of instruction. In this activity, a qualitative descriptive method was used with a Game-Based Learning (GBL) approach, involving three interns from USLS and four buddies (assistants) from FLA-SCU for 80 high school students. Data analysis from questionnaires revealed a highly positive response: 97.6% of students stated that the interns mastered the teaching material well, 98.8% felt that the learning objectives were clearly communicated, 96.4% felt they had opportunities to participate actively in class, and 96.4% stated that the teaching methods used were able to increase their learning enthusiasm. Additionally, 95.2% of students appreciated the use of engaging technology and learning media during the activities. Interviews with the student buddies also revealed that the GBL approach created a more interactive classroom atmosphere through activities such as charades and quizzes, making the class enjoyable and student-centered compared to conventional material-oriented teaching. In conclusion, this program successfully strengthened global competence and cross-cultural experience through innovative, interactive, and student-centered learning practices.
