Pendampingan peningkatan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris melalui teknik dubbing film

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa melalui teknik dubbing film. Responden yang terlibat merupakan siswa di salah satu pondok pesantren di Kota Semarang. Ada 12 santri putri yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini. Dengan menggunakan film berdurasi pendek dalam Bahasa Inggris tanpa audio, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengambil data sulih suara atau dubbing siswa. Siswa mempraktikkan sulih suara sesuai dengan karakter yang ada di dalam film. Sulih suara direkam untuk dapat dianalisis. Dari hasil analisis yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik sulih suara (dubbing) film dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk membantu siswa dalam berbicara Bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan semacam ini dapat menjadi alternatif yang menarik dan menyenangkan dalam pembelajaran berbicara Bahasa Inggris untuk diterapkan di sekolah-sekolah jenjang menengah, baik tingkat SMP maupun SMA di Indonesia.
This community service activity is carried out with the aim of providing training in an effort to improve students' English speaking skills through film dubbing techniques. The respondents involved were students at one of the Islamic boarding schools in the city of Semarang. There are 12 female students involved in this community service activity. By using short films in English without audio, the community service team collected student dubbing data. Students practice dubbing according to the characters in the film. Voiceovers are recorded for analysis. From the analysis results obtained, it can be concluded that film dubbing techniques can be used as an alternative to assist students in speaking English. Activities like this can be an interesting and fun alternative in learning to speak English to be implemented in secondary level schools, both junior and senior high schools in Indonesia.
